The miracle of life

When I traveled back to the place where I used to live for a year, I visited the forest just a four-minute walk from my old house. It had been my refuge from the city noise and the place where I spent most of my time.
There is a very special tree there. Most of its roots had long since lifted from the ground, dried up and dead.
But the tree was not dead. Its remaining roots dug deep into the earth, and new life grew from them. It's always been there, still alive.
