Breathing with your surroundings - 2022

Inspired by the view of the sunset while bathing, Sammy explores the connections between interior and exterior spaces, as well as the relationship between her body and her surroundings. By breaking the boundaries of materials, she uses light, shadow, and the refraction of water to blend photography and textiles, creating an sensitive, ambiguous atmosphere.


In and out,
void and substance,
It's the moment of sunset.
In the graceful dance of the ocean's boil, dissipating heat,
leaving trails akin to orange soda.
Things blur into abstraction beneath the play of light and shadow

I saw the light swimming on my skin,
Then drips, melting into the water.
Do I exist on them? Or are they existing in me?
